More than 275 million people are affected by edentulism and severe tooth loss, and the global prevalence of these conditions has increased by 27% between 2005 and 2015. As a result there is extensive demand for full-arch rehabilitation. There are many treatment options available and it is important that patients understand the advantages and disadvantages of each option. One attractive solution is a fixed full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery, which has been shown to quickly lead to improved patient satisfaction – with regards to function, esthetics, sense, speech and self-esteem.
